We take all levels:

Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced; kids (ages 6+) and adults. All climbing equipment is provided as well as instruction and guiding. Trips can be recreational climbing or instructional clinics; whatever the client prefers. Lunch from Backcountry Deli can be added to all trips for only$10/person.

We use many different Top-Rope climbing locations surrounding the Steamboat area. Top-Rope climbing means the rope is attached to the climber and then goes up through bolted anchors at the top and then down to the guide who holds the other end of the rope and belays the climber. He/she is always attached to the rope. It's similar to the indoor climbing gym rope system. The climbs' height varies from 25 feet to 60 feet. (except for the multi – pitch advanced climbing areas which can be as high as 450 feet.) The climber does not have to climb all the way to the top. They can be lowered back down at any time they choose. The hiking time from where you park to each climbing location varies from only 5 minutes at beginner locations, to up to 45 minutes at the advanced areas.

The climbing areas are on Rabbit Ears Pass, Fishcreek Falls area, and the Seedhouse Road area, just past Clark. Where we go depends on the ability level of the climbers and whether it is an All Day or Half Day trip. We will teach the guests as much as they want to learn. Some clients want us to show them everything including knot tying, climbing and belaying techniques, setting up anchors, and even multi-pitch lead climbing. Other clients are not interested in all the instruction and simply just want to climb. We will accommodate whatever they want.

For people staying up in the North Routt county area (Steamboat Lake, Hahns Peak, Clark, Seedhouse Road ) we can meet them at the Clark Store.

Feel free to read and fill out Waiver and Medical Form prior to trip. Click here to download.
